Training
View the Club Calendar hereSISAC Calendar.

We are continually training divers of all levels of ability. Training comprises three main parts: Theory, Sheltered Water (The Pool) and Open water.

The pool is exclusivly ours all year round so qualified divers also use it for refreshing their skills. On the right Gareth and John practice full face mask skills in the safe pool environment.

Then when Theory and Pool skills have been perfected, we move on to a sheltered open water site. This is generally a fresh water lake such as Gildenburgh shown right. Here diving skills can be progressed in full open water kit, but where tides and weather do not effect the diving. (Though its nice if the sun comes out!)

Then when both the DIving Officer and Trainee agree that they are ready, diving progresses to the Sea. This is what its all about and what we as divers get hooked on. The underwater world is an amazing place full of life and sunken wrecks. We run plenty of trips for all levels of ability so as you gain more experience there will always be diving trips to suit you. You will be encouraged to help plan and eventually run these trips so that the club structure keeps going. The photo right shows a typical club diving trip to the South West coast. Continue >
