Pool marshalling - & guide lines
« on: March 12, 2018, 02:36:06 PM »

we had a comment made by the one Leisure Centre Life guards instructors last night about not having a pool marshal last week when we had people in the pool, which was not the case, as Rob was acting as pool marshal, however when they arrived in the  pool area Rob had left but there was still people in the shallow end getting out

They said the would not make an issue of it if we dealt with it in house, which is the purpose of this post

as Club members we all have a duty to take on some roles with in the club and Pool Marshalling is one of them, in the past there has been attempts to produce a rota to provide cover which has never worked
It is at the moment reliant on volunteers to cover during pool activities

Any Phipps has been carrying out this task for a while now but we need to have a more members taking on the role with the responsibility that goes with it.
I realise it can be a boring task and a desire to get to the pub or go home,  but it is a criteria of having access to the facility under the hire rules, which we may loose if we don't adhere to it or we may be charged with having to pay for a one leisure life guard which we cant afford
I attach the role of the pool marshal, Could I ask all club members to read it and attend club nights with a commitment to do pool marshalling duties when requested
we need all club members to take an interest in the club and not be reliant on the few
Many thanks in anticipation
